The final chapter of Stephen Vogt’s story couldn’t have been written any more perfectly.
In his final at-bat during his final MLB game on Wednesday, the Athletics veteran catcher hit a home run that had fans go absolutely bonkers at the Coliseum. As Vogt ran -- and skipped -- from base to base all the way to home plate, the emotions could be felt from afar.

As fans remained on their feet screaming with joy, his teammates waited for him to cross home plate to celebrate the special moment.
While most high-fived, hugged or patted Vogt on the back, Tony Kemp took the celebration to the next level and jumped on his buddy as he congratulated him with a warm hug.
And just when the celebration appeared to be over, Kemp pushed him back out on the field for a curtain call.
Vogt ran back to the field, jumped and pointed around and then screamed at the crowd as they grew increasingly louder.
What a moment.
Vogt's final game of his career also was the A's last game of the season, and it ended with a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
