After going through his first offseason as a dad, Alex Dickerson still feels like a rookie when it comes to fatherhood.
The Giants outfielder took a few minutes to chat with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow during Tuesday night’s 1-1, seven-inning tie against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Among the topics was Dickerson’s transition to being a first-time father.

“Well, I’m assuming I’m in a decent percentage of people that get home everyday and have no clue what they’re doing,” Dickerson joked. “You just kinda piece it together. But he’s doing well, he’s healthy. So, I’m doing something right or my wife’s doing everything right.”
Dickerson has the dad jokes rolling already. Gotta love it.

The Giants outfielder missed a couple of games last year after his wife gave birth in September.
With a five-month old at home, Dickerson has another reason to build on solid numbers he has posted with San Francisco. In 52 games with the Giants last year, Dickerson slashed .298/.371/.576 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs while helping solidify the outfield.
He figures to have a similar role in 2021. Dickerson also has another young fan to root for him on Opening Day.
