Alex Wood was as vocal as any big leaguer over the course of a lockout that lasted more than three months. It came as no surprise to anyone who has watched the intensity with which he pitches that Wood forcefully pushed back on Major League Baseball's negotiation tactics, taking to Twitter often to explain why the players were so upset.
On Thursday, Wood finally got to turn back to baseball.

Wood re-signed with the Giants just before the lockout started on the first night of December, and he'll now scramble to get to Scottsdale for the start of big league camp. A lot of Giants are down there already, but the majority of the team and many key coaches have stayed home.
As they prepared for spring training, some Giants took to social media to express their thoughts about the lockout finally being over, starting with a manager who was on Twitter seconds after the news broke:
The lockout means the greatest offseason scramble in the game's history. There are more than 200 free agents who are still available and now need to find homes in about 48 hours if they want to get into camp on time, or about three weeks if they want to be standing on the line for Opening Day.
