Draymond Green perfectly describes James Wiseman’s impressive NBA start

James Wiseman has opened eyes during his first four games with the Warriors, flashing the unique blend of athleticism, smarts and talent that made him a coveted draft pick.

The Warriors were giddy that Wiseman fell to them at No. 2 in the 2020 NBA Draft, and now it's easy to see why. Wiseman has done a little bit of everything early on, from knocking down 3-pointers to going coast-to-coast for a Giannis Antetokounmpo-like slam.

Draymond Green has watched the beginning of Wiseman's NBA career from the sideline as he waits for his foot strain to heal. The three-time NBA champion had a great way to describe what makes Wiseman's start so impressive and encouraging for his Warriors future.

“The fun part is he don’t have a f----g clue about what he’s actually doing," Green told reporters following the Warriors' first two games.

That's undoubtedly true. Wiseman is doing all of this on pure talent and instincts.

The 19-year-old center played just three games in college before withdrawing from Memphis and did not have a chance to play in NBA Summer League due to the altered schedule amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Wiseman also only had one week of training camp, so it's clear that once he gets more NBA reps, he's only going to get better.

"He's just a kid, and he's just learning," coach Steve Kerr said. "It's just amazing to watch someone that young with so little experience at the college level, no summer league, no training camp, to see how poised he is, how much he wants to learn, how much he listens without feeling criticized or judged. He's beyond his years from a maturity standpoint."
