In Game 1 against the Spurs, JaVale McGee scored 15 points (his regular-season high was 14).
He also played terrific defense in the first half.

1) JaVale closes out on LaMarcus Aldridge, cuts him off, and forces a pass out to the perimeter:

3) JaVale stays down on multiple pump fakes, and then stuffs Aldridge at the rim (and then Kevin Durant drills a 3-pointer the other way):
4) JaVale holds his ground and Aldridge airballs a midrange fadeaway:

In the second half, JaVale wasn't as successful.
The Spurs clearly decided to attack the big man by repeatedly isolating him in ball screen situations:
1) JaVale gives Rudy Gay a little too much space on this mid-range jumper (but it's a shot you'll probably live with if you're the Warriors):
2) JaVale is forced to switch on to Gay, who ultimately hits a pull-up jumper (JaVale does a pretty nice job at contesting, and once again -- it's a shot you will live with):
3) Dejounte Murray attacks JaVale and finishes a really difficult shot:
4) Gay misses a mid-range jumper (JaVale does a decent job at flying at Gay, but he was a little late):
5) Aldridge hits a jumper off the pick-and-pop:
6) Aldridge sets the screen and rolls to the rim -- JaVale holds his ground, gets some help from Iguodala, and Aldridge ends up bricking a fadeaway jumper:
All in all, it was a great performance from JaVale in Game 1. We shall see what happens in Game 2 on Monday night.
"With this team, your time will come," JaVale said after the win. "And you never know. Next series, I might not play at all and I'm not gonna sit their and pout.
"I'm gonna be the same person ... that's the way it is on this team."
