The Splash Brothers are more than just a nickname. They're more than three-time NBA champions with a long list of accolades. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson formed the best backcourt in NBA history.
At least that's what Klay's father, Mychal, believes.
"I think they're just perfect for each other," Mychal recently said to NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke. "They're the best backcourt to ever play together. Obviously I'm biased, but I think it's the greatest backcourt ever.

"They'll come back and take off right where they left off when Klay comes back next year."
Unfortunately for the Warriors, and basketball as a whole, Curry and Thompson haven't shared the floor together since June 13, 2019, when Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Curry scored 21 points in the four-point loss, while Thompson dominated to the tune of 30 points in just under 32 minutes before sustaining the injury.
Thompson then tore his Achilles this past offseason and is missing his second straight season.
Mychal believes what makes the duo so great, along with Draymond Green, is that all egos are put to the side when these guys step on the court.

"They have a mutual respect for each other," Thompson said to Burke. "They know that they have to depend on each other to be successful, to win championships. So does Draymond Green. These three guys understand and respect each other's game so much that they know they can't win without the other one doing their job. And there's no ego involved.
"Steph, as great as he is, is probably the most egoless superstar this game has maybe ever seen because he's so willing to sacrifice and pass on praise and compliments to his teammates and other people -- even his opponents. Steph doesn't seem to harbor any jealousy over any player, same thing for Klay. They all appreciate what they can do for each other and with each other, and they just go out there and understand that winning as a team is all that matters.
"No one can win alone in this business. You must have help. I don't care if you're LeBron James or Michael Jordan or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Steph Curry, no one in this league can win by themselves. They absolutely have to have big-time help from everybody and Steph gets that from his teammates, and his teammates understand Steph has to be great for them to win, too."

When healthy, Curry and Thompson have given the Warriors perhaps the greatest backcourt ever for eight seasons. In that span, the Warriors have won three championships and went to five, Curry won two NBA MVPs and went to six All-Star Games while Thompson went to five.
They're two of the best shooters to play the game, changed how we see the 3-point line and Mychal can't wait to see his son share the ball with Steph again.
