Warriors guard/forward Gary Payton II reportedly will miss an extended amount of time after suffering a significant calf injury during Tuesday night's loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Payton suffered a torn right calf in Golden State's NBA In-Season Tournament finale, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Wednesday, citing sources, and will be sidelined indefinitely.

Payton limped off the court during the third quarter of the Warriors' 124-123 loss to the Kings at Golden 1 Center and was ruled out for the rest of the game. He had seven points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of action before sustaining the injury, which came right after Warriors veteran Chris Paul left the game with lower leg soreness.
Shortly after Charania's report hit, Payton shared an encouraging message to Dub Nation on social media.
And Payton's rookie teammate Brandin Podziemski made it clear the team will give it their all in his absence.

Injuries are the last thing the Warriors, who sit 10th in the Western Conference with an 8-10 record, need as they look to regain their championship form. Payton is a huge key to that quest, and his defensive prowess certainly will be missed during his absence.
