NBA rumors: Kevin Durant plans to engage four teams in NBA free agency

Kevin Durant's next NBA destination has been narrowed to four possible teams.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday, citing league sources, that Durant plans to engage in contract talks with four teams when free agency begins in two days -- the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.

On Thursday, NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole identified those four teams as the likely suitors for Durant's services.

Wojnarowski reported the "decision-making process could extend well into next week," and that talks will include "face-to-face meetings and communications by other means with Durant and his business manager, Rich Kleiman, front-office sources told ESPN."

The Warriors are the only team that can offer Durant a five-year contract worth roughly $221 million. The other three teams can give Durant a four-year contract worth around $164 million.

While the Nets had been seen as the biggest threat to lure Durant away from the Warriors, SNY's Ian Begley reported Friday that Brooklyn isn't considered the favorite to sign the two-time NBA Finals MVP.
