SAN FRANCISCO -- A Stephen Curry-led girls empowerment event at the Warriors' new home Wednesday was expected to include comedian Kevin Hart.
However, with a recent car crash in Southern California keeping Hart from attending, Curry sent his well wishes.
"The first thing I was thinking about [was] his health and him being all right," Curry said after the event at Chase Center. "I hear he's having surgery and all that, and it's not life-threatening. You can take a sigh of relief."

Hart was involved in a car crash in Calabasas, Calif., on Sunday when Jared Black, the comedian's friend, lost control of Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda and the vehicle rolled into an off-road ditch. Hart reportedly suffered a "major back injury" that required surgery, and Curry learned of the news during an overseas trip.
"I was in Iceland when it happened, and when I got off the plane, it was kind of one of the first headlines I saw," Curry said.

Following the ceremony, which was a collaboration between JP Morgan Chase and Girls Inc, Curry -- alongside more than 250 girls and Hart's trainer, Ron Boss -- took a group photo shaping their hands in the form of a heart in tribute to the comedian at Curry's request.
"I wasn't thinking about the event at all," Curry said. "It was just to make sure he was all right because we don't want to see that happen to anybody."
