Did you hear that? It was the sound of NBA teams around the league taking a collective gulp at the mention of Curry and the month of June.
Curry’s celebration haunted teams in the ‘22 playoffs; the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and Boston Celtics all fell victim to a dagger shot from Curry in each of their respective playoff series, from the first round all the way through the Warriors’ eventual Finals win.
What followed each time was Curry’s classic gesture, symbolic of putting the opposing team to sleep.
Shortly after his coy response to the reporter, Curry eventually gave the people what they wanted.
Curry's hopeful comment on Saturday about playing in June came just one day after he clapped back at ESPN for promoting a stats-based model that projects the Warriors to finish eighth in the Western Conference this season with 41.9 wins.
But Golden State wasn’t projected by ESPN to beat the Celtics in the Finals, either, as Curry pointed out on Instagram. It’s clear that once again, the Warriors star is eager to prove any doubters wrong.
