Warriors' Klay Thompson responds to Jerry West's praise about his game

Klay Thompson is a no-nonsense basketball player.

He's a superstar who doesn't act like one. He's not a diva and hasn't caused any issues for the Warriors since being drafted in 2011.

And as former Warriors executive Jerry West suggested last week, Thompson is the perfect complement to Steph Curry.

Thompson agrees with West's assessment.

"I'll never [forget] working out in front of Jerry back in 2011. And ever since then he knows I'm about that life #realGsmoveinsilence #webeenworkin," Thompson wrote on his Instagram Story on Sunday night.

On Friday, West appeared on 95.7 The Game and was asked about the Warriors not trading Thompson to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love in 2014. During his answer, West had this to say about Thompson:

"But to me, the perfect player -- and he wasn't as far along in his career when this trade had been talked about -- the perfect player for Steph was Klay," West said. "He never seeks the spotlight. He just plays the game. And he has gotten better and better, and frankly, he's one of the most underrated players in the league who gets not as much love as he should get."

At the time, Love was an NBA All-Star while Thompson was just establishing himself as an NBA starter. But the Warriors held on to their shooting guard and it turned out to be the right choice.

Thompson has turned himself into one of the best two-way players in the NBA and become one of the most beloved athletes in Bay Area history.

West knows talent when he sees it, and he's always had a soft spot for Thompson. As Thompson said "Real G's move in silence."
