Steve Kerr became the fastest coach in the history of professional sports to win his 300th career game, as the Warriors beat the Celtics in thrilling fashion on Saturday night, 115-111.

Kerr has compiled an astounding 300-77 regular season record over four and a half years as the Warriors' head coach. Kerr bested the previous NBA record held by Pat Riley, who needed 416 games to reach the 300-win plateau.
In the other major sports, it took Frank Chance (MLB) 426 games, Don Shula (NFL) 442 games, and Bruce Boudreau (NHL) 496 games to win 300 contests.
Kerr’s record includes the incredible 39-4 mark that the Dubs had under interim coach Luke Walton at the start of the 2015-16 season, when Kerr was sidelined following complications from back surgery. Since Walton held the “interim” tag, the NBA record book states that the wins count towards Kerr’s career record.
Kerr’s accomplishments include setting the single-season record with 73 regular season wins in 2015-16, when he was voted Coach of the Year. He's also led the Warriors to three NBA championships in four years, compiling a career playoff record of 63-20.

The Dubs' victory Saturday night was their 10th straight. This marked the sixth consecutive year -- five under Kerr and one under Mark Jackson -- they’ve reached this achievement.
The Warriors joined the San Antonio Spurs as the only teams in NBA history to do so.
