Is there a chance that the Warriors trade for Bradley Beal this offseason?
At this moment, all indications are that the Washington Wizards star guard will not be available because the Wizards want to give him and John Wall one more shot together. Then again, that narrative could be getting leaked in order to build up Beal's trade value.
But let's assume that Golden State learns at some point before the 2020 NBA Draft that Beal 100 percent will be on Washington's roster at the beginning of the 2020-21 season, and the front office determines that keeping the No. 2 overall pick is the best decision.

Well, that brings us to an article this week from ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
"While a Beal deal isn't available now, collecting pieces to try to acquire him before next season's trade deadline was among the most popular suggestions," Bontemps writes after communicating with various league executives and scouts.
"That's the argument for drafting the guy with the broadest appeal and [the Warriors] trying to position themselves to trade for Beal later," an Eastern Conference executive told Bontemps.
The truth is this logic can be applied to any star player who potentially could become available via trade, such as the Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons.

As for Beal specifically -- he probably is not attainable if the Wizards are winning games next year, and he is thriving alongside Wall.
The 27-year-old -- who was an NBA All-Star in 2018 and 2019 -- averaged 30.5 points and 6.1 assists per game last season, while shooting 45.5 percent overall and 35.3 percent from deep.
He scored 43 points against the Warriors on Feb. 3.
Beal is scheduled to make about $28.8 million next season, $34.5 million in 2021-22 and has a $37.3 million player option in 2022-23.
"The Warriors absolutely would thrive with Brad Beal," NBC Sports NBA Insider Tom Haberstroh told NBC Sports Bay Area's Grant Liffmann last week. "He is an amazing shooter and a guy that gets to the rack and gets free throws, kind of like James Harden, but just younger.
"The Warriors certainly have the package to get the deal done."

But would general manager Bob Myers be willing to part ways with the franchise's most valuable trade assets to acquire Beal?
Depending on how things unfold, we just might get that answer.
