SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – June 22, 2017 – NBC Sports Bay Area (@NBCSAuthentic), “Home of the Authentic Giants Fan,” today announced the launch of Giants Outsiders presented by Peet’s Coffee, a live 30-minute multi-platform and fan-interactive show, premiering on Monday, June 26 at 11p.m. following the San Francisco Giants-Colorado Rockies game. Giants Outsiders is the latest installment of the network’s Outsiders franchise, following the highly successful inaugural season of Warriors Outsiders. The announcement was made by David Koppett, Vice President of Content Strategy for NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California.
Said Koppett: "We're excited to add to our programming lineup a new perspective on Giants baseball from a pair who know the Orange and Black inside and out. Giants fans will really enjoy interacting with Therese and Grant through a variety of platforms."
Giants Outsiders, hosted by Grant Brisbee (@mccoveychron) and Therese Viñal (@ThereseVinal), provides viewers with an entertaining and fresh take on the game with insightful analysis and spirited commentary, and emphasizes viewer interaction via fan engagement on a number of social media platforms: Twitter (@NBCSGiants, @mccoveychron & @ThereseVinal) and Facebook (facebook.com/NBCSAuthentic). Giants Outsiders is simultaneously synced with Facebook Live to produce a unique conversation via an interactive experience.

Grant Brisbee has been the lead writer for McCovey Chronicles , a Giants-themed site, since 2005, and he has served as a national baseball writer for SB Nation since 2011. Brisbee has been featured as a Giants correspondent for MLB Now on MLB Network, and he is a frequent guest on KNBR radio. In 2015, he was awarded the Society for American Baseball Research Analytics Conference Research Award in the "Contemporary Baseball Commentary" category for his article "Rumors, rumors, every where, nor any drop to drink" about his experience at the 2014 Baseball Winter Meetings. A native of Burlingame, Calif., Brisbee graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Career Writing.
In 2015, Therese Viñal joined the Giants as an in-stadium host. She is also a host and public announcer for Stanford University athletics. Previously, Viñal was an associate web producer for NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California (formerly CSN Bay Area and CSN California). Her anchor/reporter experience includes positions with Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area in San Jose and NBC 24 in Toledo, Ohio. A Bay Area native, Viñal is a graduate of Presentation High School in San Jose. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at CU, Viñal was a four-year varsity letter winner in volleyball, a first-team All-Academic for the Big 12 Conference, and an honoree of the Big 12 Conference Good Works award.
