Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's season is over.
Roethlisberger will undergo season-ending elbow surgery, the team announced Monday morning.

The news comes the same week the 49ers welcome the Steelers to Levi's Stadium. Instead of facing a six-time All-Pro, San Francisco's defense will square up with Mason Rudolph, who entered the season as Pittsburgh's No. 2 or 3 QB.
The Steelers recently traded backup quarterback Josh Dobbs to the Jaguars for a fifth-round draft pick.
Rudolph replaced Roethlisberger in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks and threw an interception on his first pass attempt. The third-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft completed 12 of his 19 pass attempts for 112 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
With Roethlisberger out and Rudolph under center, the 2-0 49ers could have a clear path to three straight wins to start the season before their bye week.
