The 49ers have found a temporary solution at kicker ... again.
After Matthew Wright, filling in for injured starter Jake Moody, also sustained an injury during San Francisco's Week 6 win over the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday, the 49ers signed second-year pro Anders Carlson to their practice squad, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein reported Tuesday, citing a source.

The 49ers later confirmed Carlson's signing, and announced it had released wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. to make roster room.
Carlson, the 26-year-old younger brother of Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson, was a Green Bay Packers sixth-round pick last year. The Packers, however, waived Carlson after an inconsistent rookie season.
Most notably to 49ers fans, Carlson missed a 41-yard field-goal attempt that would have given the Packers a seven-point lead with 6:18 left in last season's NFC divisional-round playoff game at Levi's Stadium. Christian McCaffrey's subsequent touchdown would have tied the score, but because of Carlson's miss and Jordan Love's final-drive interception, the 49ers escaped with a narrow 24-21 victory.
Carlson was 27 of 33 on field-goal attempts and 34 of 39 on extra-point tries last season.
San Francisco 49ers
Wright is dealing with a shoulder injury that he sustained while making a tackle in Seattle. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported, citing a source, that the MRI came back negative, and Wright is expected to be good to go Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, so Carlson simply gives 49ers some insurance depth.
Moody, on the other, is expected to miss multiple weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in the 49ers' Week 5 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
