NBC Universal, Inc. New 49ers defensive tackle Maliek Collins describes his transition from Houston and shares his excitement towards working with Kris Kocurek.

The 49ers continued to address a key need with an unsurprising move Friday.

Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano has agreed to a one-year contract with the 49ers, a source confirmed to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco after FOX Sports and NFL Network's Peter Schrager first reported the news Friday morning.

Feliciano himself took to Instagram, seemingly confirming the news of his return.

Feliciano originally was a depth piece before he took over for Spencer Burford as the 49ers' starting right guard midway through the 2023 regular season, and 49ers general manager John Lynch was impressed with what he saw.

“We teetered on is [Feliciano] a scheme fit because our scheme is a little different,” Lynch told NBC Sports Bay Area at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month. “You got to be able to get out. Turned out he was a really good scheme fit. But what we knew every day is, this guy is a glue guy. This is a guy who brings groups together, brings people together. Tough, crusty O-lineman.”

Lynch made it clear that the 49ers intended to re-sign Feliciano this offseason.

“Absolutely,” Lynch said. “He played a really high level for us.”

Feliciano started at right guard throughout the playoffs and even in Super Bowl LVIII before leaving the game with a pectoral muscle injury.

Now the 32-year-old returns to San Francisco for his second season with the team and 10th in the NFL.
