The San Francisco 49ers added LSU running back Tyrion Davis-Price with the 93rd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers addressed an area of need on their offensive line with their first pick on Saturday.
The club selected Spencer Burford of Texas-San Antonio, who played left guard during his first two college seasons before moving to offensive tackle for his final two years. Burford was the pick in the fourth round at No. 134 overall.
With center Alex Mack’s status in question, the 49ers needed to add some help for the interior of their offensive line.

The club returns Daniel Brunskill at right guard. He could be moved to center, if Mack does not plan to return for a 14th NFL season.
Aaron Banks, a second-round draft pick a year ago, is expected to win one starting job at guard. The 49ers moved Jaylon Moore to guard.

Burford figures to have a difficult time getting on the field as a rookie, but he could develop into a starting-caliber player down the road.

Burford (6-foot-4, 304 pounds) has an 82-inch wingspan, and figures to be nimble and athletic enough to fit into the 49ers’ offensive scheme.
